I offer virtual sessions through a HIPAA-compliant online platform. I will send you a link prior to our session, and you will click and log-in. We will meet, just like we would in-person. Even EMDR can be done virtually.
While most of my clients prefer in-person sessions, online makes a great option for meeting if making it to the office one day is difficult, be it due to illness, car trouble, or other last minute issues. Reach out, and we can pivot to virtual so you don’t miss your session.

Yes! Come see me! I have a comfortable suite for us to meet in person, which can offer more privacy and fewer distractions than telehealth sometimes allows.
And, depending on weather, I can also offer Walk & Talk Sessions if you so choose, where we meet at a nearby park & walk as we process. It’s a great way to incorporate mindfulness in our meetings. Feel free to ask for more information if you are interested.

Our first session is all about getting comfortable with one another. I will review some paperwork, and then we will start exploring what brings you in and what you hope to get out of our time together. Some people are ready to unload in the first session, and some need a couple meetings before they are ready to share - either is fine with me! I really try to follow the pace of the client so that counseling can meet the needs of the person in the room.

The short answer is: It depends. Some people seek counseling to address a very specific situation or issue, and just need a few sessions to gain some perspective. Others are looking to address complex issues or chronic struggles, and those clients tend to benefit from more long-term treatment. My belief, though, is that counseling is not meant to be lifelong - it should be used when life is giving us too much to handle alone. Once issues are resolved, then counseling is considered complete.
